As the Winter months draw close I start looking out for good places of interest - Places that I can take my students groups for a Picnic. This February 2009 was a fantabulous trip to Stumbeshwar Mahadev’s Temple at Kavi Kamboi. Kavi Kamboi is a small town about an hour and a half away from Baroda . The sea shore view as you can see in the photos is truly overwhelming.
This Panoramic beauty Spot also houses one of the oldest Lord Shiva Temples called Stumbeshwar Mahadeva. The Unique feature of this temple is that the Shiv Ling is actually immersed in Sea water half of the day and is open for public view and Darshan only during the low tide.
A wonderful marvel of nature indeed. As if nature has taken upon itself the sanctifying task of the Ling Abhishek which is a very powerful and Holy ritual of Lord Shiva Worshippers.
Needless to say my students and teachers had a great time on the shore playing cricket, volley ball, throw ball and gorging on the lovely food prepared by our trip advisor Pandyaji.
