The Most Important 90 days of my Life ( For SSC / HSC / CBSE Students )

Three months more for the SSC 2010. 90 days and the countdown has begun.
What should I do ? Where do I start ? How much should I study  ? Am I on target ? Will I get the percentage I am looking for ? Yes these and many more question riddle the mind of a student at this moment.

Here are somethings you can do to keep you on your study Schedule !

1.   Follow a Regular Time Table: Keep a simple Time Table in Place. Don’t be too rigid. The Aim is to see that you don’t waste your time.

2.  Understand your Body Clock: Most students want to follow someone elses study pattern. It wont work. Understand your own self first !. When are you the brightest ? When are you normally in the best mental frame to learn? For some it could be early morning 5 O clock and for others One O clock at night ! Study the subjects according to your own energy level to study.

3.   Stick to your Plan: It’s very normal for every mind to make up excuses. I will study Later ! or I have already done it in Class. Or I haven’t understood it well. I’ll do the easy subject / topic first. Don’t Listen to theses excuses. Just Stick to your original Plan. Study !

4.   Know What to Study: Often when we sit to study we don’t know what to study ? or where to begin ? Ask yourself simple questions like which subject am I afraid of most ? What topic is troubling me? Which part of the chapter have I not understood? – Yes Begin right there ! Focus On what you do not Know or Understand and Convert it to Yes I now Understand it completely !

5.   Avoid Watching Too much T.V. : Yes its true ... Watching T.V. even just for 30 minutes a day when you have exams approaching can sure play havoc with your mind. Simply because its a Great Distraction ! and keeps your mind on what you have seen for far longer than needed. It effectively programs your mind - being a powerful Audio visual Medium - hence it is better avoided when you want your mind to function at its optimum best.

6.  Keep healthy friendship: Healthy friendship is never poking or proviking kind of friendship. Those who critisise you or make fun of you or prevent you from studing - keep them at Bay.

7. Think Positive Thoughts : Its natural for students to think self defeating thoughts. I can't concentrate or I know I will perform poorly or This subject is too difficult for me - are Self defeating thoughts. No matter how much you study - if you entertain these thoughts there will be no improvement. Think thoughts that will raise your energy level. I think I can do it ! I know I may not be doing well at the moment but my hard work will get me to the top. I know I have it in me to be a success. My study is systematic and I feel that the more I follow my plan the better I will perform.

8. Evaluate: Every plan must be tested for its effectiveness. If you have followed a study Time Table for about a week. It is time to evaluate. Ask your self questions like... Is my confidence level better? or Am I now more proficient at the subjects that I focus on ? The key is not to be critical of oneself but to genuinely see the result of the effectiveness of your Time Table. In many ways you may feel you want to modify the Timetable a bit. or Change the subjects or the time duration or the method of study - Do So !!! You know the best way you can make effective use of your time.
